We just noticed new links underneath the Google Adwords sponsored area where Google recommends different categories and different local surrounding areas from that main search. As you can see below we noticed it by searching “phoenix dentist” and “phoenix chiropractors”.
It’s similar to when Google gives site links to certain websites that they trust over time. When clicking on these links it quickly takes you to another local search for that labeled term. Another interesting thing we noticed is with these links it turns the Google Places and Maps section back to a seven pack of map listings vs. spreading them down the first page of the results.
